PUZZLE 004 [ROUTE 32 - VIDEO/ACTION]

[[Should you be wandering the streets of Violet City today, chances are you'll see Emmy happily striding along! If you're nearby, however, chances are you'll be clearing the road fairly soon when you see the Pokemon slowly gliding along behind her.

It's her newly evolved Gyarados and she's quite a monster.]]

Isn't this fantastic, Magik? You've gotten so big!

[[As Emmy walks, Magik rumbling in agreement, she starts breaking into song. Her voice, while not trained, is strong and pure, and she carries the notes with ease. Occasionally, she'll turn to look at the other pokemon following her with a mixture of mild concern and amusement; it's her Ariados, and he's happily bouncing along to the tune.

Should you be from her world, chances are you'll recognize it.

Confident in her surroundings, Emmy twirls and spins with the music, all the while meandering down the road, followed by her two Pokemon. Coming to the end of the melody, she pauses, wrinkling her nose slightly.]]

Oh, what came after that part....

[[...well, she'll just have to start from the beginning again!]]

[Kimblee had known he was supposed to meet up with Emmy in Violet City; at the same time, his first order of business after facing down Falkner (something he had insisted on doing immediately, just wanting to get this gym challenge over with) had been locating the inn and sleeping for...ever. Forever had sounded like a lovely amount of time.

These routes are difficult and no one understands, all right.

However, now that he's awake, actually seeing where it is that he's ended up sounds like a lovely idea; it isn't long before the music catches his attention, first and foremost.

The second thing that catches is a bright yellow coat, familiar despite the fact that he's previously only seen it through a video screen; the third is the -

[Though he's obviously addressing Emmy, his eyes are still kind of on the tremendous murderbeast there, uh.]

Sorry, she is rather intimidating! Quite a lovely Pokemon though! I hope she didn't alarm you.

[All right, that's rather a relief, honestly; he's not going to call too much attention to it, but it's fairly clear that he's decidedly more relaxed with that thing put away - simply because good lord, what the hell is having a poker face.]

She looks as though she has potential to be quite good in battle as well, if raised properly; hopefully she'll do well for you.

[A special meeting indeed - though he doesn't take his gloves off, he reaches out in response, accepting her hand between both of his; his grip is firm without being crushing, though he doesn't maintain it for terribly long.]

[[And Emmy's grip is also rather firm! None of that wishy-washy limp-handedness here; she appreciates a gentleman who knows how to give a proper handshake!]]

I have! Still haven't managed to get any badges, but I think one more week of training should do it! Especially now that Magik has evolved.

What are your plans for Violet City?

The same as most, I believe; I engaged Falkner in battle earlier this afternoon, actually. I've been in Johto for several months now, though unforeseen circumstances have kept me from participating in this badge challenge thus far; it was rather interesting to finally see one of these Gym Leaders in action.

["Unforeseen circumstances" being starting in Mahogany Town for no real reason that he can see, receiving a sudden transfer to Goldenrod once actual training had actually gotten underway properly, learning how to set conventional bombs, threatening to destroy the magnet train to Kanto and keeping his head down afterwards in the event of an arrest/displeased trainers who had seen his face, and dealing with his basket case of a battle partner.

...sadly enough, that last one had been the largest obstacle to actually getting things done.]

[Kimblee, on the other hand, is used to battling Archer; Archer pretty much never wastes time getting started, nor does he ever talk to his Pokémon during the battle unless it's to give orders to the new ones.

...basically, Emmy, this is so quaint he could die, holy shit.

However! He'll just be sending out the Wartortle, then; he hasn't really used it in battle against an actual trainer, Archer or otherwise, so this ought to prove...interesting. Either way, the turtle is clearly looking to kick some ass; for something so...reasonably herpy, it has quite the glare on it.]

[...Kimblee seems reasonably pleased with that, actually. You go on ahead and physically get all up in his Pokémon's business, Emmy; Richard's pretty much built for defense, and while he won't like that hit, he'll be able to withstand it.]
