[[As soon as she set foot in Violet City, Emmy immediately sought out the Gym for a battle! However, if you've got your Pokegear on or you're near the Pokemon Centre, you'll see her and her Machop emerging, looking...rather defeated.]]

Well, that certainly could've gone better.

[[Almost in unison, the pair sigh and seat themselves on a bench outside the centre.]]

That Falkner fellow had some horribly powerful Pokemon! That creepy owl....gosh, I had no idea what to do! Perhaps we shouldn't have rushed in there so soon. I'm sorry, Machi.

[[The Machop frantically waves her arms and points to herself, before sighing and slapping her palm against her forehead.]]

It wasn't your fault!

[[Emmy smiles, and puts a friendly arm around her Pokemon's shoulders.]]

Don't worry, Machi. The Professor wouldn't give up and neither will we! We just have to train harder so that next time, we're ready! We're not going to lose to the likes of him!

All of his pokemon were birds, unfortunately! It almost felt like he was-

Ah, I see! So poor Machi went in there with a handicap! No wonder he trounced her. It's practically cheating!

I suppose she'll have to take the bench when I get that rematch I want! But that's alright. Even without her, I'll still win!

Each type has different weaknesses and strengths, I think. If something was on fire, you wouldn't put it out by throwing more wood in it, but water would help, right?

That's why it's useful to catch all different kinds of Pokemon. You never know which one will come in handy!

Speaking of which, what sort of Pokemon do you have? I'm afraid I don't know all that much about you!

My Pokemon? Well, I've got this Eevee here. She's a normal type. And then I've got a fish, an electric type... cat Pokemon, a psychic one, a dark type crow, and... a... honeycomb shaped bug Pokemon.

[ He laughs ]

Most of them were gifts, actually.

We have that in common, actually! The only pokemon I've ever actually caught myself was Bug, when I had you coaching me! My other two were gifts.

You must have some lovely friends!

This is the sort of place where it's important to have friends, I think. Especially if you're new.

What makes it extra good for me is that people from my home world are here! My boss, his apprentice, even an older version of said apprentice! It's so nice seeing familiar faces.
