PUZZLE 004 [ROUTE 32 - VIDEO/ACTION]

[[Should you be wandering the streets of Violet City today, chances are you'll see Emmy happily striding along! If you're nearby, however, chances are you'll be clearing the road fairly soon when you see the Pokemon slowly gliding along behind her.

It's her newly evolved Gyarados and she's quite a monster.]]

Isn't this fantastic, Magik? You've gotten so big!

[[As Emmy walks, Magik rumbling in agreement, she starts breaking into song. Her voice, while not trained, is strong and pure, and she carries the notes with ease. Occasionally, she'll turn to look at the other pokemon following her with a mixture of mild concern and amusement; it's her Ariados, and he's happily bouncing along to the tune.

Should you be from her world, chances are you'll recognize it.

Confident in her surroundings, Emmy twirls and spins with the music, all the while meandering down the road, followed by her two Pokemon. Coming to the end of the melody, she pauses, wrinkling her nose slightly.]]

Oh, what came after that part....

[[...well, she'll just have to start from the beginning again!]]

Not yet, though I've not lost hope. The first arrivals amongst us must have reached twenty months, by now, and all are still looking.

The eight Johto badges are not enough, but there are more to earn in Kanto. Sixteen could be sufficient, perhaps.

The Kanto Gym leaders have two teams of different strength available, I believe. Once you'll have the levels for Clair, you'll have the levels for them all.

I am! I intend to earn my ninth badge within the week, if possible.

I've been there a few times, as a matter of fact. Travelling there is simple enough, as long as you can afford the pass.

[...Which is not always the case, mind you.]

I have a Clefable, a Banette, a Butterfree, an Arcanine, a Meganium, a Milotic, an Arbok, a Lucario, a Dragonite, an Umbreon, a Lunatone, a Delibird, an Altaria, two Gardevoirs, a Blissey, a Gyarados, two Luxrays, a Heracross, a Houndoom and a Sandslash. It took some time, but we finally cover all the elemental types.

She'll have the advantage over the Rock-types that live in caves; training her against them will go quickly. Once she earns a few more levels, you could also allow her to roam near the town while you work or sleep; it'll teach her how to battle following her instincts, even without your direct orders.

[He frowns slightly at that.]

...Quite frankly, I believe that would be because many trainers underestimate them at first, and pay them less attention than they do the rest of their team. Well-treated Magikarps seem perfectly happy with their trainers, even after they evolve.

I find that few Pokémon act violently or misbehave as long as you treat them well and keep them occupied.

[...Kayne the Pidgey-torturing Dragonite does not count.]

[Level 100 vs level 2. The poor things.]

Or extremely helpful. Rosie was the one to teach me how to work the Pokégear, and she took care of all our shopping during our first few weeks.

[Cecil still wonders what went wrong with that one.]

She's my Clefable, though she was a Cleffa at the time. Normal-type, with great potential for learning moves of various types.

[Yet somehow, the thing managed to breed.]

That would be her species and her egg group, as a matter of fact.

[The egg moves on those Swablus make it worth it.]

Ah, you've not tried your hand at breeding, have you?

[I can keep one aside on the next batch~]

Of course they can. How else is their population supposed to renew itself? They have children, just as we do.
