One year today! 

[[Good morning Johto! Today on the feed, you'll be being greeted by the sight of one Emmy Altava, standing with her index finger raised in the air, a smile on her face and Goldenrod city in the background. It's the 17th of December; exactly a year since she arrived in Johto, and Emmy is feeling rather buzzed about it all. It's like an anniversary of sorts!]] 

That's how long I've been here; exactly one year. Time certainly does fly when you're having fun, doesn't it? I mean, I still miss London, but I feel there's so much more to explore in this world even after being here as long as I have. I've made some wonderful friends, both human and not! 

[[With a flourish, she whips out her trusty notebook, pen poised over a blank page.]]

 So, everyone! For those of you that have been here a year or longer, tell me your favourite things about Johto! Do you still enjoy it here? Have you explored all there is to explore? What secrets or mysteries or puzzles have you uncovered? That question also goes to those of you who are newer, by the way! The Professor- [[-for a moment, Emmy's bright smile fades, before she quickly forces it back on her face; the Professor wouldn't want to see her sad, after all-]] -may not be here any more but that doesn't mean I can slack off as his assistant! 

[[Pausing for a moment, Emmy chuckles to herself.]] 

One year in Johto for assistant number 1! How terribly fitting.

This year really has been a pleasure, you know - and to answer at least one of your questions, I wouldn't say I've explored everything there is; at the same time, I find one of my favorite things about this place are the opportunities it's presented. I've been given the chance to experience so much more than I would have back in Amestris; it certainly has been quite the adventure.

Can I say that my favorite thing about Johto is "everything" or would that be ch-- okay...well I just realized that was kind of a lie. [People leaving is one thing he will never love about Johto.] Not everything but almost everything. I love the Pokemon, the people, all the things there are to explore... Which to answer that third one, no I haven't explored everything yet, even after almost two years. Is that even possible?

[A small chuckle.]

I still enjoy it here though. And I am fairly sure that I always will.

Hey, congrats! Making it to the first year's a big accomplishment. Now just wait 'til you hit the second!

There's definitely enough here to stay busy. I've been here over two years and I'm just now starting my Kanto journey. I'm still having fun here, but I've been kinda homesick lately. [Not seeing his friends from home for a really long time is getting to him.] I'm ready to stick it out, though. I've still got so much to accomplish!

This year really has been rather wonderful, hasn't it? Do you know, you were the first person I ever spoke to in Johto? And here you are, first again! Just as it should be.

Where was your favourite area to explore? I'm curious!

Ah, you have been here a while, haven't you John? I must say, I'm finding just the single year to be rather overwhelming; I don't know how I'll react if I make it to two!

 [[It's both a wonderful and rather scary thought, really!]] 

Would you say you had a favourite part of Johto? Maybe the Pokemon? I know you love your ghosts!

Oh goodness, the second year will certainly be an experience! Sometimes I forget that there are those of us who have been here for a good couple of years. 

[[Don't worry, she knows that rather painful feeling of homesickness. It's hit her hard now that she's lost the Professor; before, she...well, she had everyone from home with her, so it didn't bother her, but now....]] 

...how do you deal with the feeling of homesickness, Larry? It's only just started to hit me, and I didn't realise just how debiliatating it can be at times.

I didn't realize that I was the first, no; consider it an honor, then.

As for satisfying your curiosity - I'm partial to the Lake of Rage, obviously, but I have to admit that I'm incredibly fond of Olivine City; it's a lovely place, and I hadn't seen the ocean like that before arriving there. The inlets are one thing, near Goldenrod, but the view at Olivine was rather stunning.

Speaking of that first location, however - are you still intending to join us?

[Luke has more or less holed himself up in the house since his trip to the hospital, but hearing how excited Emmy was over her anniversary was something worth congratulating her on. He smiles to himself as he answers the Pokegear.]

I don't know what to talk about first here. Your questions, the fact that we've both been here about a year, or the fact that you're apparently a number one assistant.

[She chuckles warmly.]

That last one probably doesn't make much sense, but it was mostly your phrasing.

[Larry can definitely relate on that last bit. It's hard when friends from home go back home.]

I just remember how many awesome people I've met here, Pokemon included, and how it'd suck to have to say goodbye to them too. We'll get to be back home someday, but who knows if we'll get to see our new friends again, y'know?

As you should! After all, I am rather fantastic~

And yes, I'm very eager! Really, I'm quite looking forward to the whole thing- [[-we ignore Archer's general existence thank you-]] -and I'm rather keen! When did you want to head over there?

Oh, when you put it that way, we'll be losing friends either way!

Yeah, it didn't hit me for a while either. Johto's pretty horrible to us like that.

So either way, we'll end up losing some friends. This is terrible! I'd never thought about it in such a way.

How do you cope with this?

I think your inside joke overlapped with one of mine. See, I named my starter after my own Number One Assistant back home.

[Irony! We loves it. She chuckles a bit.]

That's right. Just under a year and two weeks at this point. And I've barely even begun to see all that Johto has in store for us, I'm certain of that much.

Uhh...I try not to think about it that much? A lot of the friends I've made here went home too so that saves worrying too...

[No what's really scary is the thought of leaving. Scary and not at all wonderful.]

The Pokemon are definitely one of my favorite parts but I don't know if I would say they are my absolute favorite. [He giggles.] Even the ghosts. Really, I think my favorite part will always be the part where I get to be with my friends every day.

[Corny and lame but, hey, that's how it goes when you made your best friends on the internet.]

Well, it's a far shorter trip for me than it is for you; I've returned home for the time being, there were some things that I needed to handle here. So just as soon as you can, really; I wouldn't want to be deprived of your admittedly fantastic company for much longer. Just let me know once you've reached town? We'll be ready for you whenever you arrive; even if the snow refuses to let up sufficiently, we could always stay here - there's more than enough space, really, you've seen it.

It's really quite an amazing experience, isn't it? Having Pokemon, I mean. It's like having your own....I don't know, pseudo-family crossed with friends.

[[Let her just sigh happily, okay.]]

I wonder what the purpose of all this is? I mean, why we were brought here?

...you're right. There's no sense in worrying about something if it's going to be inevitable!
