PUZZLE 004 [ROUTE 32 - VIDEO/ACTION]

[[Should you be wandering the streets of Violet City today, chances are you'll see Emmy happily striding along! If you're nearby, however, chances are you'll be clearing the road fairly soon when you see the Pokemon slowly gliding along behind her.

It's her newly evolved Gyarados and she's quite a monster.]]

Isn't this fantastic, Magik? You've gotten so big!

[[As Emmy walks, Magik rumbling in agreement, she starts breaking into song. Her voice, while not trained, is strong and pure, and she carries the notes with ease. Occasionally, she'll turn to look at the other pokemon following her with a mixture of mild concern and amusement; it's her Ariados, and he's happily bouncing along to the tune.

Should you be from her world, chances are you'll recognize it.

Confident in her surroundings, Emmy twirls and spins with the music, all the while meandering down the road, followed by her two Pokemon. Coming to the end of the melody, she pauses, wrinkling her nose slightly.]]

Oh, what came after that part....

[[...well, she'll just have to start from the beginning again!]]

[...at the same time, he'd honestly been wondering when that particular creature would come out; he's well aware that Machi is her starter, and as such it's a safe estimate that she's one of the level 35s. Take out the high-leveled ones and the remaining one shouldn't be too horrible.

...Dorian has no interest in saying hello to you and promptly turns his head to look at Kimblee with an expression that pretty much defines a really annoyed You've gotta be kidding, but that doesn't matter now. Ok, something....feels a bit off...why the hell is that fox giving her bad vibes...]]

[[Boom, one-shot! Machi is now unconscious and crumpled into a rather dishevelled pile.]]

[[She'll just be returning her Machoke to her pokeball and angrily selecting another!]]

Abby, Disable!

[[Whatever the hell that was, you won't be doing it again!]]

[That's fine; Kadabra's speed is quicker than Kimblee's reflexes and as such Disable connects, but Dorian has no particular advantage over Kadabra as it is, and as such Kimblee recalls him anyway.

And replaces him with a six-foot dragonfly.

Any agitation that may have been present during the previous rounds of this battle is completely gone; his gaze is piercing, alive, but his voice is strangely calm.]

Abdiel - Night Slash, if you will.

[Kimblee will just be watching Emmy's reaction to the loss; it's an interesting display, really. Again, he's used to battling with Archer, and the only other battles he's really participated in involved either NPCs, Falkner, or...well, the other one was the double-battle against Mustang; he and Archer had been on the losing end there, and so the loss had been greeted with a lot of annoyance, and a lot of sheer determination to do better next time. Yes, this is...interesting.

...and suddenly he's a bit interrupted by a giant dragonfly getting all up in his business. Oh my goddddd - ]

...Abdiel, go find me a stick.

[And with that, the Yanmega is off like a shot - hopefully she'll actually have a stick when she returns, and not a small child.]

Thank you for the battle, Miss Altava; is your... [chimera - he bites back the word, selects another.] ...Pokémon all right?

[[Emmy is focused on Nida as Kimblee addresses her; all things considered, there really isn't much damage other than some cuts and scrapes. Easily fixable!

However, since she's bent over with her mass of hair masking her features, it's hard to tell what's happening when her shoulders start to tremble....]]

[[...at least, that is until she straightens her back slightly and her hair shifts away; she's laughing.]]

What a magnificent battle, Mr Kimblee! I certainly didn't see that coming!

[...WELL, THANK GOD SHE'S NOT CRYING. That is a whole new level of awkward that he does not feel like dealing with right now; at least she's handling this like a sane person.]

Well, it would have hardly been fair if I had started out that way. As I've said, I've been here in Johto for a while, now.

[[She'll just return Nida to her pokeball, before standing up and brushing off her coat.]]

I must admit, you asking me for the levels of my Pokemon earlier did give me a clue; why ask if there was nothing you could do?

I take it that's not your main team of Pokemon.

Ah, I'm still settling on a main team; I've been raising several, in order to see what works for me and what doesn't from a battling standpoint. The two that were used at the end are in strong consideration, however; I've been working with Dorian - that's the white fox - for several months now, and Abdiel was received at Christmas.

My two strongest weren't used for this battle, no; their levels are much higher than Dorian's and Abdiel's.

Well, aren't you a gentleman! But don't you dare do that again. It's a matter of pride!
