PUZZLE 005 [GOLDENROD CITY - VIDEO/ACTION]

VIDEO

[[The feed opens to Emmy's smiling face, shaking slightly as she adjusts the camera. She appears to be in a square of sorts, sitting on a bench under a tree.]]

Does anyone out there have any advice for when it comes to visiting the Goldenrod gym for a battle? I've heard the leader is a bit childish, and it sometimes causes problems for challengers. Any hints would be appreciated!

ACTION

[[Her message completed, Emmy places her Pokegear in her pocket and awaits responses. Nearby, her Machamp and her Pignite are sparring. Occasionally she'll give them a word of praise or a correction, but it's clear her mind is elsewhere.

When replies come in, she turns to the side to answer them, displaying a certain reluctance to show her Pokemon on the Pokegear, focusing the camera only on herself as they spar off to the side.

Emmy isn't usually this disconnected from her Pokemon when they're training, but her thoughts have been heavy for the past couple of days, ever since she engaged in communication with an anonymous Team Rocket member. Whoever the person was, they'd unnerved her with their knowledge of her team and their current statuses. For this reason, she's not broadcasting her training session to the network at all.

It bothers her somewhat, as she hates feeling like this. She shouldn't have to hide her Pokemon; she wants to show them off! But if she's going to have any sort of advantage over this Team Rocket member, she has to keep her team a secret. Especially since they mentioned they'd be targeting her specifically. But why?]]

This is all so horribly creepy....

[[She's zapped back to reality as her Pignite goes rolling past her, the victim of a sneaky throw from her Machamp. Pushing her insecurities to the side, she decides to look forward, smiling as said Pignite manages to jump straight back into the battle. After all, isn't that what she should be doing?]]

[...well, this isn't. awkward. at all. is it.

Good god what is he supposed to even...do with this other than get snappish and bitchy and OH WHO IS HE KIDDING "SNAPPISH AND BITCHY" IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER]

Yes, well, are you quite finished?
scientificflair: (You'd fight and you were right)

[...RIGHT

TWISTING AROUND AND USING THAT GRIP ON YOUR WRISTS TO FLIP POSITIONS, THEN. GET ON THE GROUND, YOU.]

I'm sorry, what was that?
scientificflair: (I wish I would have met you)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, but I didn't concede the defeat, did I? Really, if we're allowing victory by assumption now, then I won before we even started.

...although from the look of it, I wouldn't have been wrong, would I?
scientificflair: (Have a new kind of fear)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Emmy, you will learn that he really does like using your own momentum against you - he will let you swing him down and then some.

Stay down, dammit.]

I don't think so.
scientificflair: (You'd fight and you were right)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, don't worry, he'll get off of you

...slamming you down a bit to hopefully give him a moment so you don't kick him immediately while he's getting up, but

he'll get up easily enough and work on brushing that cape off because good lord]

Honestly, Emmy, if you're going to carry on like an immature little brat just because you don't get your way, then from what I've heard you're going to get along famously with the local gym leader.
scientificflair: (Your early ending was all wrong)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
And why should I continue to bother? You're simplistic enough to take someone telling you to stop flailing like a child as a victory. Although I suppose I shouldn't have expected any differently from you; either way, it's not worth my time if you're going to be this desperate about it.

Come back when the Professor has taught you something worthwhile.

Maybe then you'll have your own successes to brag about, instead of relying on using him to validate yourself.
scientificflair: (Your early ending was all wrong)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
No, believe me, I understand what it is you do. At the same time, that doesn't give you the right to claim all of his victories as your own. Go ahead and claim what you've actually done all you want; I really couldn't care less.

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
My god, you're reaching rather far today. I never said anything of the sort; are you done playing mindreader?
scientificflair: (Let you know what they consider wrong)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Eyeroll

of course you can't see it behind the mask but it is the sentiment that counts]

While that was perfectly mature.
scientificflair: (Your early ending was all wrong)

[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
[He's still looking in your general direction, in a manner of speaking, but he's closed his eyes for a moment. Okay. Let's just. Not start screaming. You want civil? We can do civil.]

And I'd like to think that you would actually bring up points that don't rely on someone reading minds - because as much as I love the fact that I'm supposed to know your motives for absolutely everything you do, and I'm sure you enjoy thinking that you know all of mine, that isn't the way it is in either case.

[...OKAY, THE LEVEL OF CIVILITY IS ARGUABLE BUT IT'S AN ATTEMPT]
