PUZZLE 005 [GOLDENROD CITY - VIDEO/ACTION]
VIDEO
[[The feed opens to Emmy's smiling face, shaking slightly as she adjusts the camera. She appears to be in a square of sorts, sitting on a bench under a tree.]]
Does anyone out there have any advice for when it comes to visiting the Goldenrod gym for a battle? I've heard the leader is a bit childish, and it sometimes causes problems for challengers. Any hints would be appreciated!
~~~
ACTION
[[Her message completed, Emmy places her Pokegear in her pocket and awaits responses. Nearby, her Machamp and her Pignite are sparring. Occasionally she'll give them a word of praise or a correction, but it's clear her mind is elsewhere.
When replies come in, she turns to the side to answer them, displaying a certain reluctance to show her Pokemon on the Pokegear, focusing the camera only on herself as they spar off to the side.
Emmy isn't usually this disconnected from her Pokemon when they're training, but her thoughts have been heavy for the past couple of days, ever since she engaged in communication with an anonymous Team Rocket member. Whoever the person was, they'd unnerved her with their knowledge of her team and their current statuses. For this reason, she's not broadcasting her training session to the network at all.
It bothers her somewhat, as she hates feeling like this. She shouldn't have to hide her Pokemon; she wants to show them off! But if she's going to have any sort of advantage over this Team Rocket member, she has to keep her team a secret. Especially since they mentioned they'd be targeting her specifically. But why?]]
This is all so horribly creepy....
[[She's zapped back to reality as her Pignite goes rolling past her, the victim of a sneaky throw from her Machamp. Pushing her insecurities to the side, she decides to look forward, smiling as said Pignite manages to jump straight back into the battle. After all, isn't that what she should be doing?]]
[video]
Back in Goldenrod already, are you?
[...well, that was quick. Really, Emmy, he doesn't see why you raised such a fuss if you were just going to be coming right back.]
[video]
....8|]]
A true lady is always punctual, Descole. Still hiding behind the screen?
[video]
It's hardly hiding - surely you didn't think I was going to stand around and wait for you? After all, a true lady may be punctual, but I still have yet to see one.
[video]
Still clinging to that tired line? You need new material.
[[Standing up off her bench! With a pokeball in her hand!!]]
Are you coming or not? I don't have time to play around.
[video]
[However! Pet names aside.]
As it stands, either give some indication of your location or don't bother - though I'm flattered by the implication, clairvoyance isn't among my many talents.
[video]
you are just!]]
I'm in the little square near the gym! Do pretend to be a gentleman and get here promptly, won't you?
[video → action I guess?]
[HANGING UP AND MEETING YOU THERE, THEN; LET'S DO THIS THING?]
[action indeed!]
Emmy will be standing in the square with her hands on her hips, a pokeball nestled in the fingers of one hand. Her Machamp and Pignite have stopped sparring; Machi is currently standing behind her, mimicking Emmy's pose with one set of arms and crossing the other across her chest.]]
I thought you'd never arrive.
[action forever because screw all these re: things]
[Not that he'd know. Or, you know, not that he cares. But still!]
no subject
How did you want to do this, Descole? Did you still want me to test out your Pokemon? Or would you like to take me on personally? I'll be satisfied with either option.
[[She is smiling, actually; finally, a chance to fight.]]
I want to see if you're a bit better than your henchmen when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. They were no challenge.
no subject
If that's the case, then at least do this fairly - go on and put your little bodyguard away.
no subject
[[Nevertheless, Machi will go sit on the bench, okay. Still with her arms folded!
....and with any luck your body is ready, Descole, because as soon as Machi is seated Emmy will immediately start running at you, looking very determined.]]
no subject
Don't worry, he won't be moving out of the way in order to dodge the attack; you can come at him all you want. If anything, the more momentum you have going for you, the better it is for him; he knows better than to try to retaliate against whatever it is you're about to try - that won't end well at all and everyone here knows it - so rather than trying to get an actual hit off, he'll just be grabbing your arm as you come at, if you don't mind.
And using your momentum to deposit you rather solidly on the ground.
Does this work for everyone?]
1/2
As such, let her just. blink for a minute and try to come to her senses.
what
what
what just happened]]
...ow...
[[It's not so much a declaration of pain as it is filling the silence. Because just. how did you do that. what did you. what is this. someone call Steven Moffat she does not approve of this plotline, get the Tardis we have to go back]]
2/2
Lucky shot.
[[And once she's murmured that under her breath, coming at you again]]
no subject
Emmy, are you -
...you're charging him again, aren't you
how many times does he have to drop you before you try something else
not that he's complaining, however, if you're going to assume that was a lucky shot he'll gladly drop you again]
no subject
OKAY
THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS AND SHE LANDED ON A PLACE THAT WAS ALREADY RATHER SORE
....o-ow]]
Not bad.
[[Springing back to her feet again!
....r-rubbing her butt a bit because ow ow ow ow]]
You're obviously a bit more talented than the people you employ.
[[Her voice is light but her eyes are cool and calculating. Figuring out a different way to approach the problem. It's almost unsettling her, to be taken down so easily.
Good thing the battle is nowhere near over and she will solve this puzzle.]]
no subject
[Just thought he'd take this interlude to remind you that he's evil or something, don't mind him.]
no subject
You're going to actually challenge me, aren't you? How fantastic!
[[COMING AT YOU AGAIN....slower this time, and she's not going for a strike; holding back, hands in front of her face, watching your movements.]]
It's been a while since someone's actually managed to drop me. I'd congratulate you, but I wouldn't want to risk increasing that painfully massive ego.
no subject
If you consider that worthy of congratulations, this will be a very short fight indeed.
no subject
[[And now she'll zip in, jabbing sharply at his face, drawing his attention upwards; before promptly launching a powerful kick at his stomach.
Take that, you cad!!]]
1/2
...!
[Right! Right, that kick there will actually connect and manage to get him to drop down; holy shit, Emmy, just let him lean on the fourth wall a bit and be grateful for a moment that you aren't connecting anywhere near where that icon of yours would imply...]
2/2
Enjoy the ground again, Emmy, while Descole forces himself back up; he isn't exactly happy about that hit - it was a bit unpleasant, to understate it horribly - but he's up.]
