PUZZLE 005 [GOLDENROD CITY - VIDEO/ACTION]

VIDEO

[[The feed opens to Emmy's smiling face, shaking slightly as she adjusts the camera. She appears to be in a square of sorts, sitting on a bench under a tree.]]

Does anyone out there have any advice for when it comes to visiting the Goldenrod gym for a battle? I've heard the leader is a bit childish, and it sometimes causes problems for challengers. Any hints would be appreciated!

~~~
ACTION
[[Her message completed, Emmy places her Pokegear in her pocket and awaits responses. Nearby, her Machamp and her Pignite are sparring. Occasionally she'll give them a word of praise or a correction, but it's clear her mind is elsewhere.
When replies come in, she turns to the side to answer them, displaying a certain reluctance to show her Pokemon on the Pokegear, focusing the camera only on herself as they spar off to the side.
Emmy isn't usually this disconnected from her Pokemon when they're training, but her thoughts have been heavy for the past couple of days, ever since she engaged in communication with an anonymous Team Rocket member. Whoever the person was, they'd unnerved her with their knowledge of her team and their current statuses. For this reason, she's not broadcasting her training session to the network at all.
It bothers her somewhat, as she hates feeling like this. She shouldn't have to hide her Pokemon; she wants to show them off! But if she's going to have any sort of advantage over this Team Rocket member, she has to keep her team a secret. Especially since they mentioned they'd be targeting her specifically. But why?]]
This is all so horribly creepy....
[[She's zapped back to reality as her Pignite goes rolling past her, the victim of a sneaky throw from her Machamp. Pushing her insecurities to the side, she decides to look forward, smiling as said Pignite manages to jump straight back into the battle. After all, isn't that what she should be doing?]]
[Oh, for the love of - ]
Back in Goldenrod already, are you?
[...well, that was quick. Really, Emmy, he doesn't see why you raised such a fuss if you were just going to be coming right back.]
scientificflair: (Those who were right there)
[You keep trying to assert yourself, there.]
It's hardly hiding - surely you didn't think I was going to stand around and wait for you? After all, a true lady may be punctual, but I still have yet to see one.
It doesn't make it any less true, my dear~
[However! Pet names aside.]
As it stands, either give some indication of your location or don't bother - though I'm flattered by the implication, clairvoyance isn't among my many talents.
[video → action I guess?]
Last I checked, you weren't too fond of my pretending to be a gentleman, but I'll let you have it your way for once.
[HANGING UP AND MEETING YOU THERE, THEN; LET'S DO THIS THING?]
scientificflair: (You'd fight and you were right)
[action forever because screw all these re: things]
Patience is a virtue, isn't it? I'd think your professor would have taught you better by now.
[Not that he'd know. Or, you know, not that he cares. But still!]
scientificflair: (What you could have taught me)
[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Well!]
If that's the case, then at least do this fairly - go on and put your little bodyguard away.
scientificflair: (You'd fight and you were right)
[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
[...Emmy, if you expect him to likewise run at you with his best "brb kicking ass" expression, like some sort of demented meeting between the casts of Sherlock and Doctor Who on a bad promo day, then he's going to disappoint you quite a bit by what he does next.
Don't worry, he won't be moving out of the way in order to dodge the attack; you can come at him all you want. If anything, the more momentum you have going for you, the better it is for him; he knows better than to try to retaliate against whatever it is you're about to try - that won't end well at all and everyone here knows it - so rather than trying to get an actual hit off, he'll just be grabbing your arm as you come at, if you don't mind.
And using your momentum to deposit you rather solidly on the ground.
Does this work for everyone?]
scientificflair: (What you could have taught me)
[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
[...
Emmy, are you -
...you're charging him again, aren't you
how many times does he have to drop you before you try something else
not that he's complaining, however, if you're going to assume that was a lucky shot he'll gladly drop you again]
scientificflair: (Those who were right there)
[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, come now - they're henchmen, Emmy. Surely you think better of me than that.
[Just thought he'd take this interlude to remind you that he's evil or something, don't mind him.]
scientificflair: (You'd fight and you were right)
[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
[He's likewise keeping his distance, though what with the mask and all, it's decidedly harder to tell exactly what he's watching for.]
If you consider that worthy of congratulations, this will be a very short fight indeed.
scientificflair: (Have a new kind of fear)
[And draw his attention upwards that certainly does; he blocks the first strike, managing to keep her from connecting with his face - that mask is adhered with nothing short of magic and goddamn wishes, so he's not terribly concerned about her knocking that off, though it is possible...but mask or not, he's just. Not particularly fond of getting hit in the face, so can we not hit him in the face, Emmy, he'd be greatly obliged if you would - ]
...!
[Right! Right, that kick there will actually connect and manage to get him to drop down; holy shit, Emmy, just let him lean on the fourth wall a bit and be grateful for a moment that you aren't connecting anywhere near where that icon of yours would imply...]
[personal profile] scientificflair 2012-03-17 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
[...of course, since no good combination can go unpunished as far as Descole is concerned, once he's dropped down, seeming suitably winded, he'll just be using that position to sweep her legs out from under her in a maneuver that is, admittedly, far more dramatic than it really needed to be.
Enjoy the ground again, Emmy, while Descole forces himself back up; he isn't exactly happy about that hit - it was a bit unpleasant, to understate it horribly - but he's up.]
